
HOW DO WE HELP OUR RESIDENTS & SERVICE USERS?
All support is tailored to each person’s individual needs, through a structured care and support plan, which uses the Outcomes Star model to encourage each person to take control of their lives and work towards achieving their personal goals. Residents can receive support with:
- Maintaining a tenancy and dealing with correspondence
- Managing finances, including budgeting and benefits
- Daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning and shopping
- Building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
- Accessing education, training and employment
Our accommodation provides a safe, warm and welcoming place for people to live on a temporary basis where they can receive the support they need to get their life back on track, find and move into their own home. People living in our accommodation come to us with a range of different stories and backgrounds from rough sleepers and those having mental health issues to those escaping domestic violence, every one of our service users has a different reason for living in Filia Supported Homes.
Services
We provide supported housing for adults aged 18 or over, who have experienced, or are at risk of, homelessness. We help people to build their self-confidence and skills to become self-reliant.
This can include in-house AIG support, accessing the borough’s DAAT and IAPT services to gaining education or employment opportunities. Support is tailored to each person’s individual needs using the Outcomes Star model and may include:
- Maintaining a tenancy and dealing with correspondence
- Managing finances, including budgeting and benefits
- Overcoming a dependence on addictive substances
- Daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning and shopping
- Building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
- Accessing education, training and employment
- Some schemes only provide support with housing management. This type of supported housing is
suitable for people who need limited assistance to help maintain their tenancy, such as:
– Managing anti-social behaviour
– Issuing and enforcing occupancy agreements
– Mediation of neighbour disputes
– Managing rent and rent arrears
Mental health
We offer comprehensive mental health rehabilitation and support, for people with mild or moderate mental health needs. Through self-development and tailored support, we help adults aged 21 or over to manage their mental health, improve their self-confidence and emotional well-being.
All care and support is tailored to each person’s individual needs, through a structured support plan in line with the Outcomes Star. Filia staff take into account co-production and any community-based support, alongside our service users own assets – as per the DoH’s Triangle of Care. “Within our supported accommodation schemes, our service users can expect to receive the following support and assistance with:
- Support planning and goal setting
- Maintaining a tenancy and dealing with correspondence
- Managing finances, including budgeting and benefits
- Daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning and shopping
- Building confidence, resilience and self-esteem
- Socialising and community involvement
- Accessing education, training and employment
- We also offer move-on support services and three months post-resettlement, floating support.
Domestic abuse
We understand that domestic abuse can have a devastating effect on the lives of individuals and their families. Our support is innovative, flexible and person-centred for men and women who need advice and protection from domestic abuse. We work with those affected by abuse and others involved in their support to ensure we promote maximum choice and control while ensuring safety and security.
